Matthew Mellon, M.D.
Dr. Mellon is an assistant professor of urology with clinical interests in adult male genitourinary reconstructive surgery, complex renal stone disease, and medical/surgical urinary trauma management. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Mellon completed his general and urologic surgery training at Indiana University during which he received a National Institutes of Health Kirschstein National Research Service Award. He completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at the IU Simon Cancer Center. In 2012, he received the Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award.
Dr. Mellon is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board certified in urologic surgery. He is a member of the American Urological Association, Endourological Society, and American Medical Association. He has published in a number of medical journals and presented extensively at national professional meetings.
Dr. Mellon joined Indiana University Health in 2012. His hobbies include traveling with his wife and family, ice hockey, golf, photography, and military history.
